Kabul: At least 50 people died on Friday in flash floods following rains in Afghanistan’s Baghlan province. Giving information about this, a Taliban official said that the flood has also affected the capital Kabul. Idayatullah Hamdard, provincial director of natural disaster management in Baghlan, said that houses and properties were also damaged by the floods. He said that many people are missing since the floods and there is a possibility of the death toll increasing.
‘Flood has also affected Kabul’
Natural Disaster Management Ministry spokesman Abdullah Janan Sack said the floods had also affected the capital Kabul. He said that rescue teams are also delivering food and other aid. SAC said that the authorities are fully focused on the rescue operation and they will be able to give accurate information about the number of casualties and damage caused by the flood in the coming time. Last month too, at least 70 people died in heavy rains and flood-related incidents in the country and about 2000 houses, 3 mosques and 4 schools were damaged. SAC said thousands of people are in need of humanitarian assistance.
