Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented the 11th budget of the state in the Assembly. During his budget speech, Ajit Pawar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that I express my gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and the Central Government for the relief given in the Union Budget. We will try our best to live up to the expectations of the people of Maharashtra.
“Maharashtra number-1 in FDI”
Ajit Pawar said that Maharashtra ranks number one in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country. In Davos, Maharashtra signed agreements worth Rs 15.72 lakh crore with 56 companies, which will provide employment to 16 lakh people. Maharashtra contributes 15.4% to the total GDP of the country.
The Finance Minister further informed that seven business centers have been planned to make the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) the development center of Maharashtra. Through these centers, Maharashtra will be empowered more from a business and industrial point of view.
Statement on ‘Developed India’
He also said, “Maharashtra will be the leader in fulfilling the Prime Minister’s dream of ‘Developed India’ by 2047. We will realize the vision of ‘Developed India’ of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Maharashtra will be number one in this direction.”
What did he say about the economy?
Ajit Pawar said in the Assembly that four major factors need to increase to boost the growth cycle of the economy. Private and government investment, consumer spending and exports. He said, “The government’s investment in infrastructure and various incentives given to industries are attracting a large amount of direct domestic and foreign investment. Private investment is leading to a significant increase in production, employment and income. Apart from this, the purchasing power has increased due to the benefits of various government schemes being deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. This has resulted in an increase in the demand for goods and services in the market. As a result, the growth cycle of investment-employment generation-increase in income-demand-investment will continue.”
Logistics Policy-2024 announced
Finance Minister Ajit said in the Assembly that the state’s ‘Logistics Policy-2024’ has been announced, through which dedicated logistics infrastructure will be developed in an area of more than 10 thousand acres. The special incentives and facilities given to the projects will create about 5 lakh direct and indirect jobs.
