Algeria: While addressing the Indian community, Asaduddin Owaisi exposed Pakistan and said how a terrorist Lakhvi became a father while in jail?

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Pakistan over its dubious record of promoting terrorism and said Islamabad’s strategy of sheltering terrorists fuels instability in South Asia. Addressing the Indian community in Algeria as part of an all-party parliamentary delegation, Owaisi also cited an example of Islamabad’s complicity in terrorism and said a terrorist became a father while being officially imprisoned in Pakistan.

How Lakhvi became a father while being in jail

Owaisi pointed to the special treatment being meted out to jailed terrorist Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi by Pakistan and said, “There was a terrorist called Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi – no country in the world would allow a terrorist facing terrorism charges (to come out of jail). But he became a father to a son while sitting in jail. However, when Pakistan was put on the grey list (of FATF), the trial proceeded immediately.” Putting Pakistan in the grey list is a must

Asaduddin Owaisi expressed hope that if Pakistan is put back on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list, terror incidents in India will reduce. Owaisi warned that the issue is no longer just a regional concern. “This is not just a question of South Asia. We are the fourth largest economy. What will happen? Do you want all this carnage to spread to different parts of South Asia,” he said. “It is in the interest of world peace to control Pakistan, the main sponsor of terrorism. It must be put back on the FATF grey list,” he said.

PM Modi will visit Algeria soon: Owaisi

Speaking about the roots of terrorism, he further said, “Terrorism survives on two things: ideology and money. Ideology, you know very well, you have seen the dark decade, even in South Algeria, you still have some problems. We are together on this issue. Pointing to the growing ties between India and Algeria, Owaisi said, “Hopefully our Prime Minister will visit Algeria very soon. Hopefully the President of Algeria will visit India. This will be a very good step in the right direction.”
