Supporters of Aam Aadmi Party leader and MLA from Okhla assembly seat Amanatullah Khan have been accused of freeing a criminal from police custody. In this case, DCP South East Ravi Kumar Singh said, ‘On receiving information, the team of Delhi Police Crime Branch reached to arrest a criminal. At the same time, Amanatullah Khan reached with his supporters and helped criminal Shavez Khan to escape. We have registered an FIR against Amanatullah Khan and his supporters under the sections of organized crime. We have not been able to contact Amanatullah Khan and neither is he cooperating in the investigation.’
The police officer had said that we have registered a case against Amanatullah Khan and his supporters. We are trying to contact them and taking the investigation forward. According to the complaint, about 20 people had gathered, on which the investigation is going on. We have many teams which are investigating this matter. Let us tell you that the accused who attacked the team of Crime Branch Inspector Sunil Kalkhande and tried to murder him has been freed. Actually the case is of Jamia Nagar area, where the Crime Branch team had gone to arrest the accused.
