Jammu Municipal Corporation inspected the facilities keeping in view the Shri Amarnath Yatra. The Corporation Commissioner reviewed the arrangements at the centers set up for the stay of the pilgrims in Jammu city.
Dr. Devansh Yadav, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Chief Executive Officer, Jammu Smart City Limited, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the accommodation centers set up for the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Yatra in Jammu city.
During the visit, the Commissioner assessed the arrangements at major accommodation centers including Shri Ram Mandir (Purani Mandi), Geeta Bhawan Parade, Mahajan Sabha, Shalimar Road, Trikuta Complex, Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar. He also took stock of other designated facilities set up to facilitate the pilgrims coming for the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra.
Dr. Devansh Yadav reviewed in detail the infrastructure and services set up at each center, including provision of accommodation, sanitation, food, drinking water, power supply and medical assistance. He emphasized that timely and efficient provision of all essential services should be ensured.
Issuing directions to the concerned departments, the commissioner stressed on providing clean accommodation, hygienic food, clean drinking water, proper sleeping arrangements and well-maintained sanitation facilities to all the pilgrims.
Dr Yadav also informed that Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities will be organised at the accommodation centres to make the devotees aware about hygiene and sanitation practices. During the visit, the commissioner was accompanied by Joint Commissioner (Health and Sanitation) Abdul Sattar, Executive Engineer (Projects) Lokesh Gupta, Executive Engineer (Division 1) Rajesh Kumar, Executive Engineer, Electrical Simarpal Singh and other officials of JMC.
