Police is taking action

Early Friday in Philadelphia, police detained people who had been camping on the University of Pennsylvania campus for more than two weeks. Protests began about three weeks ago at Columbia University in New York City. It has since spread to college campuses across the country.
More than 2,500 people were arrested
The protesters are trying to draw attention to the deaths in the Israel-Hamas war and are calling on their educational institutions to stop doing business with Israel or companies supporting the war. More than 2,500 people have been arrested for demonstrating in support of Palestine. MIT President Sally Kornbluth wrote in a letter on Friday’s arrests that she has a responsibility to ensure that the campus remains safe and that everyone feels free to express their views.
