New York/Washington: After the extradition of Pakistani-origin Canadian citizen Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the conspirator of the Mumbai attack, to India, another big statement from the US has come out. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Friday that India and the US have been trying for a long time to get justice for the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. He said that with the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, the day of justice has come for the victims of the Mumbai attack.
Marco Rubio said in a post on ‘X’, “We have extradited Tahawwur Hussain Rana to India so that he can be prosecuted for his role in the conspiracy of the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks. We have been trying for a long time with India to get justice for 166 people, including six American citizens, who lost their lives in those attacks. I am happy that that day has come.”
Mumbai attack had shocked the whole world
The US State Department said that this terrorist attack in Mumbai had shocked the whole world. US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said on Thursday that the US extradited 64-year-old Rana to India on April 9 “to face justice for his role in the conspiracy of the horrific terrorist attacks of 2008”. The US has long supported India’s efforts to bring those responsible for these attacks to justice and as President Trump has said, the US and India will continue to work together to tackle the global crisis of terrorism. “He told that Rana is “in the custody of India and we are proud of the progress made in this case.” Bruce said that some people may not remember those attacks, in which 166 people, including six Americans, were tragically killed and these attacks had shocked the whole world.
America said it was a terrible attack
Let us tell you that on 26 November 2008, about 10 terrorists from Pakistan shook Mumbai. The only Pakistani terrorist caught alive was Ajmal Amir Kasab, who was later tried and hanged. The US spokesperson said, “I encourage you to see this and understand how terrible this attack was in terms of today’s situation.” Let us tell you that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) took the main accused of Mumbai attacks, Tahawwur Hussain Rana, into custody for 18 days on Friday. He will be questioned in detail to find out the entire conspiracy of the 26/11 terrorist attack.
