Amrit Bharat Station Sceme: On Monday, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of not one or two but 553 Amrit Bharat stations. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the Modi government is engaged in making the railway stations of the country world class.
Railway stations are being redeveloped. Rs 19,000 crore will be spent on the development of these 553 railway stations. The ceremony will be organized through online mode at more than 2,000 railway stations and event venues.
What is Amrit Bharat Station Scheme?
Under the Modi Government Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 1275 stations are to be developed. Some of which have been developed and work on some is going on. Work will start at some stations from Monday. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Amrit Bharat Stations spread across 27 states and union territories of the country will be redeveloped at a cost of more than Rs 19,000 crore.
The map of railway stations will change
The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that to deal with the increasing number of passengers in future, arrival and departure facilities at this station have been separated. This air conditioned station has modern passenger amenities like a large auditorium, food court and ample parking space in upper and lower basement.

Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: These stations to be developed will act as city centers connecting the two ends of a city and will boast of modern passenger amenities like rooftop plazas, beautiful landscaping, children’s play area, kiosks and food courts. These stations will be made environment and disabled friendly and the design of these buildings will be inspired by local culture, heritage and architecture.
