A bad news has come from Rajasthan. Arvind Singh Mewar, a descendant of the former royal family of Udaipur, has passed away. 80-year-old Arvind was ill for a long time. He lived in Shambhu Niwas of City Palace. He was also being treated here. Arvind Singh Mewar’s last rites will be performed on Monday as per the tradition of the royal family.

There is a wave of mourning in the whole of Rajasthan including Mewar due to the death of Arvind Singh. Arvind Singh Mewar was the younger son of Bhagwat Singh Mewar and Sushila Kumari Mewar. His elder brother Mahendra Singh Mewar passed away on 10 November 2024 last year.

Arvind Singh, a descendant of Maharana Pratap, did his schooling from Mayo College, Ajmer. After this, he graduated in Arts from Maharana Bhupal College in Udaipur. He also took a degree in Hotel Management from St Albans Metropolitan College, UK.

He also worked in America

Arvind Singh also worked in America for some time, then he was the Chairman and Managing Director of HRH Group of Hotels. Apart from this, he was the President of Maharana Mewar Foundation Trust, Maharana Mewar Historical Prakash Trust, Rajmata Gulab Kunwar Charitable Trust. He was the 76th patron of the Mewar dynasty.

Contribution in the development of Udaipur-Mewar

This news of Arvind’s death is a big loss for the Mewar dynasty. He had made a significant contribution to the development of Udaipur and Mewar during his lifetime. Preparations are being made for his last rites. A large number of people are gathering to pay tribute to him.
