Assam: Fight between groups of students in Guwahati University after tearing of anti-CAA posters, several students injured.

Guwahati: Clashes broke out on Monday between students of the prestigious institute and members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) after anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) posters were torn down on the campus of Guwahati University (GU) located in Jalukbari area of the city. Went. Police gave information about this. However, the student wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party denied the allegations. The police said that many students were injured during the clash. After receiving the information, top officials immediately reached the spot.

ABVP denied
Members of GU’s newly elected student body, the Post Graduate Students’ Union (PGSU), claimed that ABVP members tore anti-CAA posters at the university gate, which triggered the confrontation and turned into a fight. ABVP refuted PGSU’s claim and alleged that while they were holding a meeting in a hall on the university campus, some students who arrived there raised anti-CAA slogans and were also stopped from entering the campus. Police said that the injured students were treated at a nearby hospital. He said, “As soon as the information was received, our top officials reached the spot and now the situation is under control.”

Fighting in Gujarat University also
Let us tell you that recently a mob of some people had beaten up foreign students for offering Namaz in the hostel of Gujarat University in Ahmedabad. Two people were injured due to the fight, due to which they were admitted to the hospital. While giving information about this matter on Sunday, the police had said that the incident took place on Saturday night. After this incident, one student each from Sri Lanka and Tajikistan has been admitted to the hospital. Police Commissioner G. S. Malik said that an FIR has been registered against 20 to 25 people and nine teams of security personnel have been formed to investigate the incident.
