Assam Police started action against illegal Bangladeshis and sent two Bangladeshi intruders across the border, Assam Police arrested a suspected Jihadi terrorist

Assam Police has launched a campaign against Bangladeshi infiltrators and terrorists. On Sunday, Assam Police arrested a member of a radical terrorist group in Dhubri district of Assam and on the other hand sent two Bangladeshi citizens across the border. The Assam government has started action against Bangladeshi infiltrators and has started sending them back.

According to the spokesperson of Assam Police, the police has arrested a person on Sunday on suspicion of being a terrorist. The suspected terrorist has been arrested during Operation Praghat campaign being run by the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police. Operation Praghat is an ongoing multi-state operation against radicals, terrorists and terrorist networks.

Terrorist arrested in Operation Praghat campaign
The police spokesperson said regarding the arrest of the terrorist that the suspected terrorist has been arrested from Khudigaon village under the limits of Bilasipara police station. His name has been reported as Zaheer Ali. Police said that a total of twelve suspected terrorists, including Bangladeshi citizens, have been arrested so far under Operation Praghat.

Under Operation Praghat, Assam Police arrested eight radicals including a Bangladeshi in December last year. They were planning to carry out subversive activities across the country and had set up sleeper cells for this.

Two illegal Bangladeshis sent across the border

On the other hand, Assam Police also took action against Bangladeshis who illegally infiltrated the state. State CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that two Bangladeshis trying to enter India illegally have been sent across the border.

Sarma, praising the efforts of the team, posted on Twitter, “Keeping a close vigil on the Indo-Bangladesh border, Assam Police caught two Bangladeshi nationals and sent them across the border. He informed that both the infiltrators have been identified as Labono and Bijli.

More than 210 infiltrators have been sent back from Assam since unrest broke out in the neighboring country and surveillance has been increased along the 1885 km long Indo-Bangladesh border in the North East.
