A shocking incident unfolded at Delhi airport on Friday, where an Air India Express pilot allegedly assaulted a passenger. The airline has ordered an investigation and suspended the pilot. The pilot was not on duty at the time of the incident, according to sources.

Blood visible on the passenger’s face
The passenger shared details of the incident on the social media platform X, posting a picture showing blood on his face after the altercation. He also shared a picture of the pilot on social media.

Pilot was traveling as a passenger
The airline said in a statement that it is aware of the incident at Delhi airport involving one of its employees, who was traveling as a passenger on another airline, and was involved in an altercation with another passenger.

Pilot removed from duty with immediate effect
The airline stated, “We strongly condemn such behavior. The employee concerned has been removed from official duties with immediate effect pending an investigation. Appropriate disciplinary action will be initiated based on the findings of the investigation.”

The incident occurred at Delhi Airport Terminal 1
The passenger, Ankit Diwan, alleged that Air India Express Captain Virendra Sejwal assaulted him at Delhi Airport Terminal 1. Diwan said his seven-year-old daughter witnessed the assault and is still in shock and frightened.
