Aditya Thackeray On Bakrid: Bakrid festival will be celebrated across the country on June 7, but before that political rhetoric is intensifying on it. Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray has now given a big statement on the controversies surrounding Bakrid.
Taking a sharp stand on this matter, he has said that why do governments appeal to save something or the other during every festival. He told news agency ANI, “I think why should there be save this, save that on every festival, you celebrate the festival, celebrate it.”
This is not the government’s job – Aditya Thackeray
He said, “I am also an environment lover, but sometimes save water, sometimes save colors, now save this, at least let us breathe. You celebrate the festival, this is not the government’s job. It is not the government’s job to interfere in festivals.”

The matter escalated after the instructions of the Gauseva Commission
The issue has heated up due to the instructions of the Maharashtra Gauseva Commission regarding Bakrid. The commission issued instructions to keep the animal markets closed in the state from June 3 to 8, which caused discontent especially in rural areas. Many political parties met the Chief Minister and lodged objections against this decision.
The festival of Bakrid will be celebrated across the country on June 7 and before that the announcement of the closure of markets has put cattle owners and farmers in worry. Opposition parties say that farmers take care of animals for months for this festival and in such a situation, the decision to suddenly close the market for the same time is against their will. This can create an economic crisis for the farmers.
Let us tell you that the instructions of Maharashtra Gauseva Commission have been withdrawn for the time being.
