On Thursday, an Air Force trainer fighter jet met with an accident in a river in Chattogram, Bangladesh. According to the report, one of the two pilots on board this plane died in the accident. In a video of the incident, fire is seen in the rear part of the plane. It took almost one round before falling into the river.
In the video, the body parts of the jet are also seen breaking little by little. The Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) said 32-year-old Squadron Leader Asim Jawad died during treatment at the Navy Hospital.
Trainer fighter jet crash
According to the information, the YAK130 trainer fighter jet of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) was returning to the base after training at around 10:25 am when it crashed. In this, Wing Commander Sohan Hasan Khan and Squadron Leader Asim Jawad were on board the flight and managed to get out of the jet. In the video the pilot is shown descending with a parachute.
Committee formed to investigate the accident
According to media reports, the two pilots who landed in the river were rescued by members of the Air Force, Navy and local fishermen. Asim Jawad was taken to the hospital but he died during treatment. According to ISPR, the pilots managed to take the plane away from the densely populated area near the airport to a less populated area. BAF has formed a committee to investigate the accident.
