Beijing: Part of a bridge collapsed after a collision with a container ship in China’s Guangzhou city on Thursday. Two people died due to this. While three other people went missing. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. Five vehicles were also damaged in this terrible accident. The incident occurred in Guangzhou, about 90 kilometers northwest of Hong Kong. It is being told that an empty container ship collided with the Lixinsha bridge in Nansha district of Guangzhou in the early hours, causing a part of the bridge to collapse.
According to Beijing News, the captain of the ship has been arrested. According to the Global Times report, the cause of the accident and the number of casualties are currently under investigation. At the time of collision with the container, a bus was passing over the bridge, which fell into the river. There is no clear information yet as to how many people were on board. Rescue and relief teams are working on the spot. However, Guangzhou Bus Company said that only the driver was on board when their bus fell off the bridge.

Rescue teams are at the scene, but the number of other casualties is not yet known. After the incident, the bridge has been closed for traffic due to a major crack. Zhong Weihong, village party secretary of Minjian village on the island, told reporters that a ferry option was available for residents to travel.
