Bengaluru: 62 year old Prakash dies in an accident with the car of BJP candidate from Bengaluru North seat, Shobha Karandlaje.

There has been news of a major accident involving a BJP leader’s car in Karnataka. The car of BJP candidate from Bengaluru North seat and Union Minister of State for Agriculture Shobha Karandlaje has become the cause of the accident. A 62 year old man has died in a car accident. This vehicle was used in his election campaign. According to Bengaluru East Traffic Police, the car driver responsible for this accident has been taken into custody. Let us know the whole matter.

How did the accident happen?
According to Bengaluru East Traffic Police, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje was campaigning, she got down from her Fortuner car and went to the street to campaign. After this, after sitting in the car for some time, the driver suddenly opened the door. 62 year old Prakash was passing by on a Honda Activa. Due to the sudden opening of the door, he collided with the door of the car and fell down. A private bus coming from behind him ran over Prakash and he died on the spot.

Shobha Karandlaje is the Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in the government of PM Narendra Modi. She is India’s second woman Union Minister of State for Agriculture and has been elected to the Lok Sabha from Karnataka for two consecutive terms. She was elected from Udupi-Chikmagalur in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections with a record margin of over 3.50 lakh votes. She has also served as a member of the Standing Committee on Energy, Committee on Women Empowerment and Consultative Committee on the Ministry of Women and Child Development in the 17th Lok Sabha.

When will elections be held in Karnataka?
There are a total of 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka and Lok Sabha elections will be held here in two phases. According to the Election Commission, voting on 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state will be held in the second phase on April 26, while voting on the remaining 14 seats will be held in the third phase on May 7.
