Election is constitutional and illegal: Kejriwal
Former Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had opposed the decision to conduct the election. Kejriwal had said that there is a clear instruction in the law of Delhi Municipal Corporation that only the Mayor has the right to call the meeting of the House.
He said that the meeting of the House cannot be called by LG or Commissioner. It is clearly written in the law that 72 hours should be given to call the House, so that the councilors can make full preparations for it, but no rule was followed in this case. This election is completely unconstitutional and illegal.
