Bhojpuri singer Ritesh Pandey resigned from Jan Suraj and said, “I have absolutely no regrets.”

Patna: Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj party in Bihar has suffered a major setback. Bhojpuri singer Ritesh Pandey, who joined Jan Suraj before the Bihar assembly elections, has now resigned from the party. Ritesh Pandey announced this in a post on the social media platform X.

He said that he participated in this great festival of democracy, but the results were not favorable. However, he also said that he has no regrets whatsoever. It should be noted that Ritesh Pandey faced defeat in the Kargahar constituency in the Bihar elections.

No Regrets About the Defeat

Bhojpuri singer Ritesh Pandey publicly announced his resignation through a post on the social media platform X. In his post on X, Ritesh Pandey wrote, “As a responsible Indian citizen and by right, I participated in the great festival of democracy by joining the Jan Suraj party. The results were not favorable, but I have no regrets whatsoever because I did my work honestly.”

Ritesh Pandey further wrote, “Well, now I have to continue serving all of you through the same work that has brought me, a boy from a humble farmer’s family, so much love, affection, and respect. And it is very difficult to do this while being an active member of a political party, so today I am resigning from the membership of the Jan Suraj party. I have tried to express my thoughts in a few words. I hope you will understand.”

Ritesh Pandey’s Defeat in Kargahar Constituency

It should be noted that Ritesh Pandey contested the election from the Kargahar assembly constituency in Rohtas district of Bihar. Ritesh Pandey had joined Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj party before the elections.

He was seen with Prashant Kishor at various places in Bihar. However, when the results of the Bihar elections came out, Ritesh Pandey faced defeat. Ritesh Pandey could only secure 16,298 votes. JDU candidate Vashishth Singh won the Kargahar seat with 92,485 votes. He defeated BSP candidate Uday Pratap Singh, who received 56,809 votes.
