Bihar: Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said that more than eight new medical colleges will open in Bihar in the next three years, strengthening healthcare services and promoting medical education.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar is continuously taking concrete steps to provide better and accessible healthcare services to every citizen. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary made this statement while addressing an event. He said that the government’s goal is to establish a medical college and hospital in every district so that people do not have to travel to big cities or other states for treatment.

Samrat Choudhary said that it is with this vision that the Mahabodhi Medical College and Hospital has been inaugurated in Gaya. This institution will prove to be a great relief not only for the people of Gaya district but also for millions of people in the surrounding districts. He said that the construction of this state-of-the-art medical college in a limited time reflects the commitment and willpower of the state government.

No need to go to other states for treatment anymore – Deputy Chief Minister
In his statement, the Deputy Chief Minister, while referring to the past state of Bihar’s healthcare system, said that several medical colleges were established in the state between 1925 and 1989. However, during the long period from 1989 to 2008, not a single new medical college could be opened. He said that this was the time when Bihar’s healthcare services suffered greatly, and people had to go outside the state for better treatment. Now, this will not be the case; people of Bihar will not have to go to other states for treatment.

Healthcare system improved under NDA rule – Samrat Choudhary
Samrat Choudhary said that when good governance began under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, special attention was given to improving the healthcare system. He informed that medical colleges are being established rapidly in both the government and private sectors. He announced that more than eight new medical colleges will be opened in Bihar in the next three years, which will further strengthen the state’s healthcare services.

He informed that the Mahabodhi Medical College and Hospital in Gaya is a state-of-the-art institution with a capacity of 650 beds. Experienced doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff have been deployed there so that patients can receive quality treatment round the clock. The medical college has received accreditation for 100 MBBS seats.
The Deputy Chief Minister also informed that the medical college has received accreditation for 100 MBBS seats and the enrollment of students for the academic session has been completed. He said that this will prevent the youth of Bihar from having to go to other states for medical education.

Samrat Chaudhary expressed confidence that the Mahabodhi Medical College and Hospital will become a model institution in the field of medical education, research, and healthcare services in the coming years and will provide new strength to Bihar’s healthcare infrastructure.
