Bihar E-Voting: Bihar State Election Commission is writing a new chapter towards modern technology. Voting will now be more smart, safe and accessible. This initiative of e-voting of the State Election Commission is being done especially keeping in mind the Divyangjan, elderly and migrant citizens, so that the vote of every voter can be recorded easily, safely and with dignity.

The Bihar State Election Commission is ready to use it for the upcoming Municipal General By-election 2025 of local bodies. State Election Commissioner Deepak Prasad said that it has always been the endeavor of the Commission to provide free, fair, transparent, responsible and accessible voting process to every voter. E-voting is being used for this purpose. Those who had difficulty in coming to the booth, such voters will be able to vote from home.

First registration… then consent

He said that many voters cannot come to the booth due to physical difficulties. Many people are also afraid. Its concept is to vote by staying at home. Regarding e-voting, Deepak Prasad said that first of all, registration has to be done and consent has to be given for security. After giving consent, those people are registered. During registration, we have electoral papers. In this, we have photographs and now the photographs that we take through selfie, along with that, we also check by doing a live test that you are a living person. We match the photographs of the e-pic of that photograph with AI-based technology.

He further said that even if there are old photographs in the e-pic, even if there are photographs from 20-25 years ago, then due to being AI based, it matches. Everything is digital in the Election Commission. Today, leave aside booth capturing, although there are many discussions, but complete transparency is maintained in everything. Completely transparent arrangements are also made in counting.
