Muzaffarpur: Smugglers in Bihar have found a surprising way to smuggle alcohol. To avoid the police, smugglers are now smuggling alcohol through gas tankers. The latest case has come to light from Muzaffarpur where alcohol worth Rs 1 crore has been seized. Police have caught three smugglers with alcohol from Bakhri Chowk. This illegal alcohol was ordered to be consumed during Chhath Puja.
Alcohol was being supplied by hiding it inside the tanker
According to the information, to avoid the police, the liquor smugglers are now supplying consignments of alcohol by hiding them inside gas tankers after ambulances, trucks, tractors. So that no one suspects. On the basis of secret information, near Bakhri Chowk of Ahiyapur police station area, the police have seized a huge consignment of foreign alcohol from a gas tanker with Nagaland number. Instead of gas in the tanker, cartons of alcohol were hidden in its secret basement.
The liquor is worth Rs 1 crore
The value of the seized liquor is estimated to be around Rs 1 crore. Three smugglers have also been arrested from the spot. During interrogation, the smugglers have given information about many other people involved in the liquor business. Police is conducting raids on their information. Regarding the matter, SDPO Nagar 2 Vinita Sinha said that action has been taken on secret information. DSP Vinita Sinha said that raids are being conducted continuously against liquor smuggling during festivals.
The accused are residents of Haryana-Punjab
In this sequence, the police received a secret information that liquor has been ordered by tanker. A team was formed and raids were conducted near Bakhri Chowk. A large amount of liquor has been seized from Bharat Petroleum oil tanker. The driver and the cleaner have been arrested from the spot. Both are from Punjab and Haryana. The liquor is manufactured in Himachal Pradesh. The accused are being questioned. However, the police have registered a case and are interrogating the accused.
