The era of 90s has always been memorable in Bihar politics. This was the era when Lalu Prasad’s reign as Chief Minister started in the state. In this decade, there was a resident named Kamlesh Pandey of Navadih village of Rohtas district. Kamlesh Pandey, who studied engineering, belonged to the Bhumihar caste. Since contracts were given for extracting sand in Rohtas district, Kamlesh also used to take small contracts. His image was that of a strongman in the surrounding areas, so there was no major hindrance in his work. This Kamlesh Pandey’s son is Narendra Pandey, who is also known as Sunil Pandey in Bihar politics today.
The Bangalore incident changed the track
Just as every father wants his son to study and achieve a good position in the society. With this objective, Kamlesh Pandey got Narendra Pandey admitted in Bangalore. His thinking was that his son should study and become something, but in this very city of Bangalore, fate played such a game that Sunil Pandey’s entire life track changed. Experts say that while living in Bangalore, Sunil Pandey had a fight with a boy. In this fight, Sunil Pandey stabbed that boy. After this, he came back to his home in Nawadih, Rohtas.
When Sillu Mian joined him

Sillu Mian was known to be close to the late Bahubali MP Shahabuddin of Siwan. Circumstances arose in such a way that Sunil Pandey came to know Sillu Mian and soon he became Sillu Mian’s right hand. It is said that Sunil Pandey took his first class in the world of crime from Sillu Mian’s school.
Wanted to move ahead
As it often happens, Sunil Pandey also had a desire to move ahead. Due to this desire, the friendship between Sillu Mian and Sunil Pandey started to crack slowly. Meanwhile, one day Sillu Mian was murdered. Sunil Pandey’s name came up in this, but due to lack of any kind of evidence, no case was registered. In 2015, Sunil Pandey again changed the party and joined Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party. He was made the spokesperson in this party.
When Brahmeshwar had a conflict with Mukhiya ji
Whenever the 90s are mentioned in Bihar politics, the name of Ranvir Sena definitely comes up. Actually, this was the period when Bihar had witnessed many massacres one after the other. This was the period of caste massacre. It was during this period that Ranvir Sena came into being. The specialty of this army was that it mostly had members of Bhumihar caste. The chief of this army was Mukhiya ji i.e. Brahmeshwar Mukhiya. It is said that during this period, Sunil Pandey also joined Ranvir Sena. An incident happened in 1993, when the news spread that the owner of a brick kiln was murdered.
This was the same incident when Sunil Pandey and Brahmeshwar Mukhiya came face to face. Experts say that in January 1997, three people were killed together in Bagar village of Tarari block. Mukhiya ji was accused of this. There was also a woman among those who died. All the deceased were from Bhumihar caste. It is said that the deceased woman was a close relative of Sunil Pandey. After this, the tension that started between Sunil Pandey and Brahmeshwar Mukhiya continued. The tension between Sunil Pandey and Mukhiya continued till the Mukhiya was murdered on June 1, 2012.
He had then given an affidavit of 23 crimes

However, Bihar police acted swiftly considering the high profile case and found Dr. Ramesh Chandra from Naubatpur area of the capital. When the case was investigated, Sunil Pandey’s name came up. Then there was RJD government in the state and Sunil Pandey was an MLA from Samata Party. In this case, Sunil Pandey along with three others were sentenced to life imprisonment in 2008, but when the matter reached the High Court, they were acquitted.
Name in Mukhiya ji’s murder!
That day of June 2012 was a stir in Bihar politics in terms of news. When the news came that Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, the head of Ranveer Seva, was murdered. The entire administrative system was shaken by this incident. Considering the highly sensitive case, a team of sharp police officers started the investigation. Everyone was stunned when Sunil Pandey’s name came up in the police investigation. However, the police also showed promptness and arrested Sunil Pandey’s driver. In the same case, Sunil Pandey’s brother and then independent member of the Legislative Council Hulas Pandey was also taken into custody, but was later released.
RJD is raising questions
The main opposition party Rashtriya Janata Dal has directly targeted Sunil Pandey’s joining BJP. Party spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed issued a statement saying that they are promoting the politics of purity and people who have contributed to the politics of purity are joining their party in large numbers. Today BJP has included Sunil Pandey in its fold. Now those people who have been the epitome of the politics of purity for BJP and NDA, all those people are joining their party.
‘As soon as everyone joins BJP, everything is fine’
RJD says that what kind of environment does BJP want to create in the society by including such people? What kind of environment do you want to create and in what way do you want to do the politics of purity? Make it clear. Also tell that those who were in other parties till yesterday were the epitome of Jungle Raj, but as soon as they join the BJP NDA camp, they become Mangal Raj followers instead of Jungle Raj followers. This kind of politics and the idea of such politics is being given to the society through BJP. The way BJP is sacrificing the politics of purity for a single seat in the society and including such people, in relation to whom BJP leaders have been adorning them with what words.
