The wife was upset with her husband’s addiction to drugs. This incident happened on Tuesday night in Maulanagar. Sudhir Kumar, a resident of this place, uses intoxicants, due to which there used to be disputes in the house every day. Sudhir’s wife Poonam Devi was very upset with his addiction to drugs. She used to stop him from doing drugs every day. Despite this, there was no change in Sudhir’s habits. He started coming home late at night after consuming some intoxicant every day.
Shot for opposing intoxication
According to the neighbours, Sudhir Kumar came home on Tuesday night after consuming smack. He reached home late at night. Seeing him late and intoxicated, his wife Poonam protested. There was a dispute between the two over this matter. Accused Sudhir tied his wife Poonam to the cot using her own sari and shot her. After killing his wife, he sat near her dead body.
Arrested by the police
On hearing the sound of the gunshot, there was a stir among the people in the neighbourhood. When people reached the spot, the accused was sitting near the dead body after committing the crime. Someone informed the police about the incident. When Atari police reached the spot, the accused started running away from there. The police arrested the accused. The pistol used in the murder has also been recovered from him.
