Bihar: Rajesh Roshan, a militant BJP worker and currently a candidate for the Tirhut Graduate Legislative Council by-election, died of a heart attack on Sunday morning. He suddenly had a heart attack during the puja-paath after taking a bath at home, the family was immediately taking him to the hospital, but he died on the way. There is an uproar in the family after this accident. Rajesh Roshan had filed his nomination as an independent candidate on November 15. He wanted to contest the Legislative Council elections but he was not given a chance by the party and the alliance.
Members of many social organizations including BJP have expressed deep condolences on the death of Rajesh. People told that after the morning puja, he was preparing to go to Sakra, when suddenly he fell unconscious and could not get up. Let us tell you that Sitamarhi MP Devesh Chand Thakur was the MLC of Tirhut Graduate area, this seat had become vacant due to his contesting the Lok Sabha elections and by-elections are being held on this seat.
Election will not be postponed, what do the rules say
Since the process of filing nomination papers is still going on, there is no provision for postponing the election. The nomination process will continue till November 18. November 21 is the last date for withdrawal of nomination. Voting will be held on December 5 and counting will be done on December 9.
NDA has fielded JDU spokesperson Abhishek Kumar Jha on this seat. On the other hand, the Grand Alliance has given a chance to RJD’s Gopi Kishan. Prashant Kishore’s party Jan Suraj is also in the fray. PK has fielded Dr. Vinayak Gautam from this area. Vinayak Gautam’s father Ram Kumar Singh was a three-time MLC from Tirhut Graduate. Devesh Chandra Thakur had captured this seat by defeating him.
