Bihar: PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of energy sector projects worth ₹6204.65 crore in Madhubani, said these projects will give a new direction to development in Bihar.

Bihar’s energy sector has achieved a significant milestone. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several power projects worth Rs 6204.65 crore in Madhubani. These projects include a scheme to strengthen and modernize the power distribution system of Bihar at a cost of Rs 5030.74 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), which will ensure more quality, continuous and uninterrupted power supply to consumers in the state.

Apart from this, the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 1173.91 crore related to residential electrification in 62 villages in the former areas, construction of 59 new power sub-stations and strengthening of Patna power distribution system was also laid. These projects are a big step towards strengthening the power infrastructure in the state, which will benefit consumers in both urban and rural areas.

On this occasion, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan; Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar; Union Panchayati Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh; Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, besides other dignitaries were also present.

Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav said that today is a historic day in the energy journey of Bihar. Through these projects, we will not only strengthen the infrastructure of the state, but will also strengthen our resolve to deliver quality electricity to every household.

He said that the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and the cooperation of the Central Government are a source of inspiration for us. The Energy Department under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is committed to complete these schemes in a timely manner so that every consumer can get uninterrupted and reliable electricity service.
