A new controversy has erupted over teaching Urdu in a school in Begusarai, Bihar. Where an Urdu teacher posted in the school has alleged that he is being prevented from teaching Urdu by the school principal and other school teachers. Also, he is being harassed and insulted. In this case, the students of the school and their parents have lodged a complaint with the District Education Officer against the principal and teachers.
In this case, the District Education Officer has assured to investigate the matter at his own level. The whole matter is of Government Middle School Pahsara Babhan Gama of Naokothi block of Begusarai district. Let us tell you that Mohammad Avid, selected by the government through BPSC TRE-3, was posted as an Urdu teacher in Government Middle School Pahsara Babhan Gama of Naokothi block.
As soon as he was posted, Mohammad Avid demanded to teach Urdu to the Muslim children of the school. But, the principal and other teachers refused to give separate classes for teaching Urdu. Urdu teacher Mohammad Avid kept demanding to teach Urdu citing his appointment as an Urdu teacher. The matter escalated. The victim teacher Mohammad Avid alleges that he was appointed as an Urdu teacher on 15 May. When he demanded to teach Urdu from his principal, he was treated inhumanly and indecently by the school principal on 27 June.
Urdu classes are not being given
He has made a written complaint to the Governor, DM, Education Department and other departments. The victim says that when the department demanded a show cause from the headmaster on his complaint, the principal got angry and threatened to strike off the names of the children with the intention of taking action. The teacher told that he takes classes for eight hours but he has not been allowed to take Urdu classes till date. He demands that the entire matter be investigated impartially.
The District Education Officer will investigate
On the other hand, the Muslim children and their parents who reached the District Education Office in this matter told that they have been made to sign a paper by threatening to strike off their names. They want to study Urdu. In this case, the District Education Officer said that the children and their parents had come to meet him. He has taken the mobile numbers of all of them. He will personally go and investigate the whole matter. Action will be taken against whoever is found guilty. The whole matter is about the Urdu class.
