BJP leader and minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, on the incident of molestation of Australian women cricketers in Indore, said that the players should be more careful about their safety.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the Australian women cricketers who were harassed should have been more careful. He said, “This was a mistake while visiting a cafe in Indore three days ago. However, the players’ sudden departure without informing anyone, and not even informing their coach, is also a mistake on their part.”

Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that while there was private security and police protection, the women players left without anyone noticing, and then this incident occurred. Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that this incident is unfortunate, but players should also learn from it.

Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said, “I believe that when we travel to another country or city, we should also be concerned about our own safety.” He said that players should ensure that when they leave their destination, their security and local administration should be informed, as there is a huge craze for cricketers in India.”

BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma described the accused, Aqeel Sheikh, as one of a group of illegitimate children conspiring to defame Indian culture. He also mentioned an incident in neighboring Uttar Pradesh in which a 13-year-old Muslim girl was harassed by a Muslim cleric. He said, “Whether the daughter is Hindu or Muslim, we guarantee the safety of our daughters. Whether the daughter is from India or Australia, her safety is also our guarantee.”

The BJP MLA made this statement regarding the arrested accused, Aqeel Sheikh, who has a previous criminal record. MLA Rameshwar Sharma made this comment in response to an incident in which at least two athletes were chased and harassed by a man on a bike.
