Political relations between BSP chief Mayawati and her nephew Akash Anand are back on track. A day before Ambedkar Jayanti, Akash Anand publicly apologized to Mayawati, and a few hours later, she showed a big heart and forgave him. In this way, 41 days after being expelled from BSP, Akash Anand has returned to the party again. Akash Anand will be seen with his father Anand Kumar in the BSP program organized at Dalit Prerna Sthal in Noida on Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti.
Mayawati expelled Akash Anand from BSP on March 3. The reason behind this was Akash Anand following the political advice of his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth. After a month and a quarter of being expelled from BSP, Akash wrote a letter to Mayawati on Sunday and apologized as well as expressed his desire to work in BSP again and said that in the interest of the party, he will no longer listen to his relations, especially his in-laws.
About two and a half hours after Akash apologized, Mayawati also forgave him and announced to give him another chance to return to the party, but neither did she give Akash any post nor any political status.
These side stories of Akash’s homecoming
The script of Akash Anand’s homecoming in BSP had already been written, which has been implemented a day before Ambedkar Jayanti under a well-thought strategy. Mayawati had issued the order to expel Akash Anand from BSP on March 3, after which Akash Anand maintained silence, but behind the scenes efforts were being made to bring the spoiled relations back on track. If BSP sources are to be believed, after Akash Anand was expelled from the party, he talked to his father Anand Kumar about the whole issue and he understood that he had indeed committed a big mistake by getting influenced by his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth.
Only after all was well between father and son, Anand Kumar talked to sister Mayawati about this issue. Not only this, four big leaders of BSP also explained to Mayawati that Akash Anand is a child, Ashok Siddharth had misled him. Akash Anand is not at fault in this and by expelling him from the party you have given him a very big punishment. After this, Akash Anand talked to Mayawati on the phone and accepted his mistake and asked for a chance to work in the party again.
All is well between Akash and Mayawati
Mayawati had forgiven Akash Anand ten days ago and the script for taking him in the party had also been written. People of BSP also made Akash Anand’s apology viral on social media and sent it to journalists. This also shows that everything was already decided between aunt Mayawati and nephew Akash Anand, but an auspicious time was awaited for it. For this, a day before Ambedkar Jayanti was chosen. Akash asked Mayawati for forgiveness on social media platform X at 5:56 pm on Sunday evening. About two and a half hours later at 8:23 pm, Mayawati announced to forgive him on X.
Akash Anand posted four tweets one after the other on Sunday, in which he wrote that he considers Mayawati as his only political guru and ideal from his heart. Along with this, he vowed that for the benefit of Bahujan Samaj Party, he will not let his relations and especially his in-laws become an obstacle. He also said that he will follow only the guidelines given by Mayawati and will respect the elders and old people in the party and will learn a lot from their experiences. Forgive all my mistakes and give me a chance to work in the party again.
Two and a half hours after Akash Anand posted, Mayawati said that Akash Anand wrote in his four social media posts about publicly accepting his mistakes and giving full respect to the senior people. However, after being expelled from the party, Akash has been continuously contacting people to apologize for all his mistakes and not to make such mistakes in future and now he has publicly accepted his mistakes and has expressed his resolve not to go ahead with the words of his father-in-law. Apart from this, he promised to dedicate his life to BSP and the movement. In view of this, it was decided to give him another chance.
Akash’s homecoming is a compulsion or a necessity
Akash Anand needs BSP for his political future as much as Mayawati needs Akash Anand. In this way, both are politically compulsive and necessary for each other. Mayawati knows very well in whose hands BSP’s future will be safer. Mayawati understands very well that apart from her, if there is anyone who has the power to gather the Dalit community in BSP, then it is Akash Anand. Akash has a strong hold among Dalit youth.
Ever since he was expelled from BSP, there was a continuous demand for Akash’s return. Apart from this, he has grown up playing in Mayawati’s lap and has learned to walk on the political path by holding her finger. Mayawati also sees BSP’s future in Akash’s hands. In this way, Mayawati could not remain angry with Akash for long, for which the way for his homecoming was found. Akash Anand also knows that what can be achieved politically by staying in BSP, can neither be done by forming a party nor by going to any other party.
What is Mayawati’s plan through Akash?
The political graph of BSP is continuously falling down. The Dalit community is also getting disillusioned with BSP. Chandrashekhar Azad is rapidly spreading his political feet among the Dalits, due to which the Dalit youth is also getting inclined rapidly. In such a situation, Mayawati brought Akash Anand into politics to prevent Dalit youth from going towards Chandrashekhar. In 2017, when Chandrashekhar’s name came up in the battle of Dalit-Thakur supremacy in Saharanpur, Akash was brought on the political pitch at the same time. Not only this, Akash Anand also started the 2024 Lok Sabha election campaign from Nagina, from where Chandrashekhar Azad is a Lok Sabha MP.
Through Akash, Mayawati wants to attract Dalit youth, on which everyone from Chandrashekhar Azad to SP and Congress is eyeing. SP is busy mobilizing Dalits on the pretext of its Rajya Sabha MP Ramjilal Suman. The way the Karni Sena and Thakur community people are aggressive on Ramjilal’s statement, Akhilesh Yadav has made it clear that he stands firmly with Ramjilal and SP will fight his battle. Apart from this, Akhilesh has tried to give a political message by unveiling the statue of Dr. Ambedkar in Etawah.
Everyone’s eyes on Dalit vote bank
Congress is also eyeing the vote bank of the Dalit community. The way Congress has passed its resolutions regarding Dalits, tribals and backward classes in the Ahmedabad convention of Gujarat and has decided to move forward on the agenda of social justice. Mayawati is feeling uncomfortable due to Congress’ focus on Dalit vote bank. She had also criticized Congress on social media regarding this. Seeing Rahul Gandhi’s commitment to social justice, it had become a compulsion for Mayawati to bring back Akash Anand.
By bringing back Akash Anand, Mayawati is considered to have a strategy to keep her core vote bank along with Dalit youth. Akash Anand was successful in making his political identity through his speeches in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Akash’s popularity among Dalit youth is also considered to be quite good. After Akash Anand was expelled from BSP, there was disappointment among Dalit youth and there was a danger of them going to Congress or other parties.
