Interim Budget 2024: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that the Union Interim Budget (Union Budget 2024) meets the needs of every section of the society. On the other hand, the opposition Congress said that the budget is useless because it has not given any relief to the public from high taxes. He said, “The budget will provide direction and energy to achieve the Prime Minister’s goal of creating a developed India by 2047.” Welcoming the target of construction of two crore new houses under the Rural Housing Scheme, Patel said that in places like Gujarat, States will also benefit from new schemes like solar rooftop power generation for one crore houses. He also appreciated the announcement of the Central Government to include Asha and Anganwadi workers under the ambit of Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
What did Shaktisingh Gohil say?
Gujarat Congress President Shaktisingh Gohil wrote on ‘X’ that people were expecting that BJP would provide some relief from the high income tax rate in the election year, but no relief was given. He said, “The diamond industry of Gujarat is continuously demanding reduction in import tax because this industry is going through recession due to wars happening around the world. However, no relief was given to the diamond sector. The Congress leader said that no solution has been suggested in the budget to the country’s two biggest problems – inflation and unemployment.
