In view of the assembly elections in Jharkhand, voting is being held for the first phase on November 13. Voting is being held today on 43 assembly seats of Jharkhand. At the same time, by-elections are also being held today on 31 assembly seats of 10 states and one Lok Sabha seat in Kerala. Apart from this, both the candidates of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha have won unopposed on two seats of Sikkim. In fact, out of 31 assembly seats, 28 assembly seats became vacant only because the candidates of these seats won the Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, due to untimely death on two seats and one candidate changing the party, these seats have become vacant, on which by-elections are being held.
On which seats are the by-elections being held?
West Bengal: By-elections will be held for 6 assembly seats of West Bengal. By-elections will be held here in Sitai, Madarihat, Naihati, Haroa, Taldangra and Medinipur.
Meghalaya: Voters will exercise their franchise on one seat of Meghalaya, Gambregre (West Goro Hills) assembly seat. From here, Congress has fielded Jingjang Marak and BJP has fielded Bernard Marak.
Gujarat: Voting will be held for by-election on Vav assembly seat of Banaskantha district of Gujarat. Congress has fielded Gulab Singh Rajput and BJP has fielded Swarupji Thakur from here.
Bihar: Voting is to be held for 4 assembly seats in Bihar. The 4 assembly seats of Bihar for which voting will be held include Ramgarh, Tarari, Belagnj and Imamganj assembly seats.
Assam: Voting will be held for 5 assembly seats of Assam. These seats include Dholai, Sidli, Bongaigaon, Bohali and Samguri assembly seats.
Kerala: By-elections are also going to be held on Wayanad Lok Sabha seat and Chilakkara assembly seat of Kerala.
Karnataka: By-elections are going to be held on three assembly seats of Karnataka. People will exercise their franchise in Shiggaon, Sandur and Channapatna assembly constituencies of Karnataka.
Rajasthan: By-elections are going to be held on 7 assembly seats of Rajasthan. These seats include Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniyara, Khinvsar, Chaurasi, Salumber and Ramgarh assembly seats.
Chhattisgarh: By-election is going to be held on Raipur City South assembly seat of Chhattisgarh. 30 candidates are in the fray for this seat.
Madhya Pradesh: By-elections are going to be held on Budhni and Vijaypur seats of Madhya Pradesh. Let us tell you that after Shivraj Singh Chauhan became a Lok Sabha MP, he had to resign from this seat.
