New Delhi: Major action has been taken against Congress leaders in the case of generating AI video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother Hiraben Modi and sharing it on social media. An FIR has been registered at North Avenue police station on the complaint of Sanket Gupta, convener of Delhi BJP’s election cell. According to the complaint, on September 10, 2025 at 6:12 pm, an AI generated fake video was released on X handle from the official social media handle of Congress (INC Bihar). The case has been registered against the leaders associated with Congress and Bihar Congress IT Cell.

The image of PM Modi and his late mother was shown wrongly in this video. BJP says that this video was not only made to tarnish the reputation of the Prime Minister, but is also an insult to women’s dignity and motherhood. The complaint also said that during the Congress-RJD Voter Rights Yatra held in Darbhanga, Bihar on August 27-28, indecent and indecent comments were also made against PM Modi and his mother.

Case registered under these sections

Considering the complaint of BJP leader Sanket Gupta as serious, Delhi Police has registered an FIR. BNS has been booked under sections 318(2), 336(3)(4), 340(2), 352, 356(2) and 61(2) including relevant sections of the IT Act and Digital Data Protection Act.

BJP attacks Congress

Earlier, BJP and its allies on Friday targeted Congress for posting an AI video on social media by its Bihar unit depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother. BJP and its allies termed it shameful and wondered to what extent Congress can stoop to target Modi. To target the Prime Minister, Bihar Congress on Wednesday posted a video on its ‘X’ handle, in which it was written in Hindi, “Maa aayi in sahab’s dreams. In this video, Modi’s mother is seen criticizing his politics.
