CBI: In a corruption case, the CBI arrested 7 people including 2 IRS officers in Mumbai, recovered property documents worth about Rs 40 crore including jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh

The CBI has arrested 7 people including 2 IRS in the corruption case. They have been arrested in Mumbai. Property papers worth about Rs 40 crore including jewelry worth Rs 50 lakh have been recovered from them. Also, 3 luxury vehicles have been recovered. The CBI raid is still going on.

In another case, the CBI had also taken major action in Bihar on Tuesday. Satish Jha was arrested from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh in the 2017 Srijan scam case in Bhagalpur. Satish was posted as the then Sub Divisional Officer in Bhagalpur Co-operative Society. He was considered close to the scam kingpin Manorama Devi.

CBI had registered a case in 2019

A charge sheet was filed against him in 2019. Satish was playing hide and seek with the CBI since 2022. It is alleged that Satish, in collusion with the scam kingpin Manorama Devi, helped in transferring the funds to Srijan by conducting a wrong audit. The CBI had registered a case against him in 2019.

Earlier, the ED had taken major action in Mumbai on Tuesday. A search operation was conducted at 9 places in Mumbai and Aurangabad under the provisions of PMLA in a money laundering case related to bank fraud against M/s Spectra Industries Limited (SIL) and others. During this, bank balances, fixed deposits and equity shares and securities worth Rs 8 crore were frozen.

ED’s big action in Odisha

Sources said that the house and some premises of Khirod Malik, brother of BJD MLA Pramila Malik, were raided in Sambalpur.

There has been no response from the MLA in this matter. Pramila is a seven-time MLA. She has been elected MLA from Binjharpur assembly seat in the Odisha Legislative Assembly. She was the Revenue and Disaster Management Minister in the Naveen Patnaik government. Her brother Khirod died in September.
