The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an NIA officer. The Deputy Superintendent of Police posted in the Patna NIA unit and two middlemen have been arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from a person. Officials gave this information.
The NIA officer was implicating in a false case
Officials said that the accused NIA officer had taken bribe to save the person from investigation of a case issued against him. He said that the CBI had received a complaint from Rocky Yadav, owner of Ramaiya Construction, that Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Pratap Singh was extorting money from him by threatening to implicate his family in a false case of illegal possession of arms without license.
NIA conducted searches at the construction company owner’s place
Officials said that the NIA searched Yadav’s premises on September 19 and asked him to appear for questioning before Singh, the investigating officer of the case, on September 26. He said that Ajay Pratap Singh is accused of threatening Yadav and demanding a bribe of Rs 2.5 crore to ‘save him from the consequences’ of the investigation.
Legal action is being taken
An officer said that Rocky Yadav had agreed to bribe Ajay Pratap Singh to save his family from false allegations. The CBI, while investigating the same case, has arrested the NIA officer for taking bribe. Now legal action is being taken against the accused officer.
