CDSCO failed 53 medicines in quality test, medicines like Pantocid were also included in these medicines, apart from this vitamin medicines were also included

Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has failed 53 medicines in the quality test. These include some medicines for BP, diabetes and vitamins. The medicines that CDSCO has failed include pain reliever Diclofenac, fever reducer Paracetamol, antifungal medicine Fluconazole and some vitamin medicines. These medicines are manufactured by many big pharmaceutical companies of the country. These medicines have failed the quality test and have been declared dangerous for health.

CDSCO has failed 53 medicines in the test although a list of 48 medicines has been released. This is because the company that made 5 medicines says that these are not their medicines. Only fake medicines are being sold in the market in the name of their company. Among the medicines that have failed is Pantocid tablet manufactured by Sun Pharma. This medicine is used for the treatment of acid reflux. Many people use this medicine and its consumption has also increased in the last few years, but this medicine has also not passed the test.

Calcium and Vitamin D tablets – Shelcal and Pulmosil injection, which are used for the treatment of high BP, have also failed the test. Alkem Health Science’s antibiotics Clavam 625 drug failed the test. However, some pharmaceutical companies have also claimed that the batches of medicines marked by CDSO are fake and are not manufactured by them.

Damage to health

According to the order issued by the central government, there is a possibility of danger to people from the use of glucoamylase, pectinase, amylase, protease, alpha galactosidase, cellulase, lipase, bromelain, xylanase, hemicellulase, lactase, beta-gluconase, malt diastase, invertase and papain. The medicines that have failed also include antiparasitic medicines for hair treatment. The government has advised people to use other medicines in place of these medicines.

156 fixed dose medicines were banned a few days ago

A few days ago, the government had banned 156 fixed dose medicines. Those medicines were also said to be harmful for health. Then the government took this decision after the recommendations of the Drugs Advisory Board. Fixed dose medicines i.e. FDC are those medicines in which more than one medicine is mixed in a single pill and taking them gives immediate relief.
