Central investigation agency ED took action against a famous builder in Mumbai on the basis of FIR, the agency raided 22 locations, in which property worth Rs 30 crore was recovered.

Central investigation agency ED has taken major action against a famous builder in Mumbai. The investigating agency has raided 22 places in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The premises of Supreme Construction and Developers Private Limited were also raided on 7 February. The Central Investigation Agency has recovered Rs 27.5 lakh in cash, FDs worth crores and property documents in the raid. According to the information, a total of property documents and cash worth Rs 30 crore have been recovered in the raid.

ED took action under PMLA on the basis of two separate FIRs registered by the investigating agency at Taloja Police Station and Chembur Police Station. Investigation revealed that builder Tekchandani and others took Rs 400 crore from about 1700 customers in the name of building a housing society in Taloja, Chembur, but the customers neither got the flats nor would the money be returned.

Rs 400 crore scam

According to the information received from the investigating agency, Rs 400 crore taken from 1700 people was invested by Tekchandani in purchasing land at different places in the name of the family. Even before this, a case related to cheating of many home buyers had come to light by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police. Police E.O.W. The branch had arrested city builder Lalit Tekchandani in a case of fraud and forgery.

According to information received from officials, the case is related to alleged cheating of many home buyers. He said that the complainant has alleged that he had invested Rs 36 lakh in the construction project of Tekchandani in Taloja. He told that the company had assured him that this project would be ready in 2017, but its construction stopped in 2016. In such a situation, neither did they get the flat nor did they get their money back.
