Politics has erupted in Chhattisgarh over the names of schemes, in which Congress and BJP are standing face to face. Recently, the BJP government led by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has changed the names of two schemes named after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Congress is furious over this move of BJP. Congress said, the BJP government does not have any new scheme, so it is changing the names of the schemes of the previous government.
The order regarding changing the names of two schemes in the state from Rajiv Gandhi’s name to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay was issued on 18 September, and it was also uploaded on the government website on 30 September.
Names of which schemes have been changed
Officials informed that the name of Rajiv Gandhi Swavalamban Yojana has been changed in Chhattisgarh and it has been changed to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Swavalamban Yojana. At the same time, the name of Rajiv Gandhi Ajeevika Kendra Yojana has been changed to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Ajeevika Kendra Yojana.
Congress changed the names in 2019
Officials said that both the schemes were already named after Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, but the previous Congress government changed the name of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and named these schemes after Rajiv Gandhi in the year 2019. State Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sai said that earlier these schemes were in the name of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay ji and now they have been named again after him.
Congress furious over name change
Opposition party Congress is strongly criticizing this move of BJP. State Congress Communication Wing Chief Sushil Anand Shukla criticized this move of the BJP government and said, the BJP government does not have any new scheme, so it is changing the names of the schemes of the previous government led by Bhupesh Baghel.
