Bemetara Road Accident: A major accident took place late on Sunday night in Bemetara, Chhattisgarh, in which eight people including three children died tragically while 21 people are said to be injured. The condition of four of the injured remains critical and they have been referred to AIIMS, Raipur. The remaining injured are being treated in the CHCs of Bemetra and Simga. The accident was so gruesome that many people suffered serious injuries. There is a fear that the death toll may increase further.

The matter is near Kathiya petrol pump of village Bemetara police station area. Information has been received that a pickup truck full of people hit a Tata 407 parked on the roadside, killing about 26 people.

The family was returning from a family event.
It is being told that all the people traveling in the pickup had gone to village Tiraiya for a family function and were returning from there to their village Parthara. As soon as information about the accident was received, the police team and administration officials reached the spot. Along with Collector and SP, SDM also reached the spot and also inquired about the condition of the injured in the hospital.
