PATNA: While giving appointment letters to 51 thousand 389 teachers at Patna Gandhi Maidan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that today it is hoped that all of you teachers will discharge your responsibilities in a better manner. The Chief Minister said that when we got a chance to work here, many steps were taken for the betterment in the field of education. Appointed teachers were reinstated. In the year 2023, new teachers were reinstated by Bihar Public Service Commission. In the first phase, 1 lakh 20 thousand 336 teachers and in the second phase, 94 thousand 833 teachers have been reinstated. Appointment letters have already been provided to the newly appointed teachers of both the phases.

Today, 51 thousand 389 newly appointed teachers of the third phase were given appointment letters. Combining these three phases, a total of 2 lakh 68 thousand 548 new teachers have been reinstated. Apart from this, 42 thousand 918 headmasters have also passed the examination conducted by BPSC, who will be provided appointment letters next month. By combining these four phases, the number of new teachers to be appointed by BPSC will be 3 lakh 11 thousand 466.

Appointment of employed teachers on a large scale
The Chief Minister said that due to shortage of teachers in the past, employed teachers were appointed on a large scale through Panchayat and Municipal bodies from the year 2006-07, whose total number is about 3 lakh 68 thousand. In which 28 thousand employed teachers became government teachers by passing the BPSC examination. The remaining 3 lakh 40 thousand teachers remained as employed teachers, so we decided that employed teachers do not need to give BPSC examination, they will be given 5 opportunities to become government teachers by giving a separate examination.

So far, competency examinations have been conducted for 2 lakh teachers. One lakh 87 thousand 818 employed teachers passed the first competency examination and 66 thousand 143 employed teachers passed the second competency examination. Including both, 2 lakh 53 thousand 961 Niyojit teachers have become government teachers. Now only 86 thousand 39 Niyojit teachers are left who will be given 3 more chances. If we add the total number of government teachers made from 3 lakh 11 thousand 466 new government teachers appointed by BPSC and 2 lakh 53 thousand 961 Niyojit teachers, then the total number of government teachers in the state will be 5 lakh 65 thousand 427.

Worked for the upliftment of all
The Chief Minister said that we have worked for the upliftment of all from the very beginning. Many works have also been done for the upliftment of women. A large number of schools were opened and new class rooms were built in many schools. In the year 2006-7, a dress scheme was started for boys and girls. In the year 2008, a cycle scheme was started for the girls of class IX to go to school. Later, from the year 2010, a cycle scheme was also started for boys. To promote girl education, higher secondary schools (10+2 schools) were opened in all panchayats.

Earlier, girls used to get Rs 10,000 on passing the 12th examination, which has now been increased to Rs 25,000. On passing graduation, the incentive amount is now increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000. Girls are now studying well and the number of boys and girls in schools has now become almost equal. Earlier, very little money was spent on education. Now every year about 22 percent of the state budget is being spent on education, it will be increased further.

Teach children well and develop them
