Patna, the capital of Bihar, will soon receive the gift of metro rail. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is expected to inaugurate the Patna Metro service tomorrow, October 6th. The Patna Metro Rail Corporation has begun preparations.
The metro train will run from the Patliputra Bus Terminal via Zero Mile to Bhootnath Station. It will cover a distance of approximately 4.5 kilometers, providing a new and convenient transportation facility to the people of Patna.
Train Capacity
- The metro train will run with three coaches.
- These coaches will seat 138 passengers, while 945 passengers will be able to travel standing.
- Foundation stone laid for the construction of 6 underground stations
In addition to the inauguration, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of 6 underground stations, including Patna Junction, and a 9.35-kilometer tunnel. This underground section will connect Patna’s busiest areas.
Patna will gain new momentum
Before Dussehra, the CMRS conducted a detailed trial inspection of the metro. Every aspect, from the signaling system to the strength of the tracks, braking, and train speed, was meticulously examined. The report found all standards to be fully met. Following the issuance of the safety certificate, the government set October 6 for the inauguration. With this, it became clear that the Patna Metro is now ready for general passengers.
The launch of the metro service will significantly transform Patna’s public transportation system. Currently, the metro will bring relief to those struggling with increasing road congestion and traffic jams. By facilitating smooth travel within the heart of the capital, it will not only save time but also reduce environmental pressure.
