US-China Tariff War: Tariff war has now broken out between the world’s two superpowers, America and China. On one hand, on Saturday, February 1, the Donald Trump government of America imposed an additional tariff of 10 percent on goods imported from China. At the same time, now China has also retaliated against America by announcing new tariffs on American products from Tuesday, February 4.
The tariff imposed by China on American products will come into effect from Monday, February 10. According to PTI reports, China has announced new tariffs in retaliation against the US tariffs.
The Chinese Finance Ministry has informed about the decision to impose 10 to 15 percent tariff on American products on Tuesday, February 4. The imposition of tariffs by Beijing will affect the import of big cars, pickup trucks, crude oil, LNG, agricultural equipment coming from America to China.
In fact, China has announced to impose an additional tariff of 15 percent on coal, LNG (liquefied natural gas) imported from America and 10 percent on crude oil, agricultural equipment, pickup trucks, high emission vehicles. Apart from this, China has also imposed control on some major minerals exported to America.
Dragon also became strict about Google
According to PTI reports, China has also become strict on American tech giant company Google. China has announced that it will investigate Google on suspicion of violating antitrust laws. In fact, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation said that it is starting an investigation against Google for violating its anti-monopoly law.
China’s Ministry of Commerce gave a statement
China’s Ministry of Commerce has confirmed in a statement on Tuesday (February 4) that China has brought the WTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism to counter the tariff measures of the Trump administration of America.
