Rain and landslides have caused havoc in Jammu and Kashmir. Three people died due to cloudburst in Rajgarh area of Ramban due to heavy rains. At the same time, landslide in Mahora of Reasi caused havoc. Mountain debris fell on a house and 7 people died. Many houses were razed to the ground in the sudden flood due to cloudburst in Rajgarh. Some houses were completely washed away in the flood water. There is panic among the people after the incident.
A landslide incident took place in Mahora area of Reasi. However, the local administration has started relief and rescue operations at the spot. Rescue teams have also reached the spot and started searching for the missing people. By continuously running rescue operations at the spot, the affected people are being taken to safe places. Relief camps have been set up for the people. Along with this, the officials said that they are keeping an eye on the situation.

Administration appeals to be cautious
The local administration said that due to heavy rains and cloudburst in the state, there is a surge in the rivers and streams and their water level is rising rapidly. In such a situation, people have been appealed to be careful. Many people lost their lives and many went missing in incidents of flash floods, landslides and cloudbursts due to heavy rains in different areas of Jammu this time.
54 people have died since Monday
The calamity that rained from the sky in Jammu and Kashmir has ended the lives of many people. Many people got stuck in the flood with their families, while some people’s homes were washed away in the flood. Incidents of cloudburst have been reported from many places so far. A total of 54 people have died in different areas of Jammu since Monday. These include 34 in Katra, 7 in Reasi, 3 in Ramban, 5 including an Army and BSF jawan in Jammu, 4 in Doda and 1 in Kathua. Not only this, before this, on August 14, a cloudburst had occurred in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. About 60 people had died in this incident too.
