Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday stressed the importance of keeping pace with changing times, saying that those who are not ready for risk are left behind. While presiding over the closing ceremony of the 92nd Founder’s Week celebrations of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad in Gorakhpur, Adityanath also underlined the importance of collective effort and unity for the welfare of society and the nation. He said that the cycle of time continues to move without waiting for anyone. Those who are not ready for risk and are unable to adapt themselves are left behind.
What did he say about collective effort?
Welcoming Nobel Prize-winning social worker Kailash Satyarthi, he said that when we work with collective effort and team spirit, the results are naturally better. This is the true measure of success. Chief Minister Yogi described the elimination of brain fever in eastern Uttar Pradesh as an example of the power of collective effort and research. He said that brain fever was wreaking havoc in Purvanchal for more than 40 years, causing the death of thousands of children in 38 districts. Adityanath said proper treatment facilities did not exist in the region in the initial years and the virus adapted itself despite vaccines being available, making the crisis even worse.
He further said that however, after his government was formed in 2017, a strong action plan was put in place with the support of the state and central governments, UNICEF, health organisations and various government teams. “The journey from facing a tough challenge to achieving results exemplifies the power of teamwork and collective determination,” Adityanath said. He urged the youth to reduce the use of mobile phones and focus their energy on hard work, studies, skill development and connecting with nature.
“Don’t let technology control us”
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also warned, “We must ensure that we control technology and not let technology control us.” He encouraged the youth to take inspiration from the life of Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi and connect with their interests and explore new opportunities beyond personal preferences.
