The uproar over the statement given by the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi regarding Sikhs is increasing. After Rahul Gandhi accused Sikhs of not having religious freedom in India, BJP’s Sikh leaders protested in Delhi. Meanwhile, Congress has shared a video of BJP leader and former MLA Tarvinder Singh Marwah, in which he is threatening Rahul Gandhi that he will meet the same fate as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Congress demanded action
The Congress party has shared the video on its ‘X’ handle. Congress has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take action regarding this. Congress wrote, “Delhi BJP leader and former MLA, Tarvinder Singh Marwah said during the protest today, Rahul Gandhi, come back, otherwise in the coming time you will also face the same fate as your grandmother. This BJP leader is openly threatening to kill the Leader of the Opposition of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, you cannot remain silent on the threat of this leader of your party. This is a very serious matter. This is the product of your party’s factory of hatred. Action has to be taken on this.”
What was Rahul Gandhi’s statement?
It is worth noting that during his US tour, Rahul Gandhi had said, “There is concern among the Sikh community in India whether they will be allowed to wear turban, kada or not? Will they be able to go to the gurudwara? This concern is not only of Sikhs, but of people of all religions.” Let us tell you that Tarvinder Singh Marwah was in Congress till two years ago. In July 2022, he left the Congress and joined the BJP.
