Congress IT Cell General Secretary Jairam Ramesh accused the BJP of tampering with the majority in Jammu and Kashmir elections and said that the BJP is playing a dangerous game in view of the defeat in the elections.

Congress IT Cell General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Monday accused the BJP of tampering with the majority in the Jammu and Kashmir elections. He said that the BJP is playing such a sinister game in view of the defeat in the elections. The senior Congress leader said that he has clear information and basis to say this. The BJP knows that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have chosen the Congress-National Conference alliance.

The Congress Rajya Sabha MP says that the BJP is playing a sinister game of tampering with the majority in view of the threat of defeat in Jammu and Kashmir. It is hoping for a hung assembly so that it can help them in manipulation. The BJP has resorted to the old methods of its self-proclaimed ‘Chanakya-neeti’. Earlier, Congress ally National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had also raised a similar issue, on which he also got a strong response from the Home Minister’s Office.

‘BJP is misusing power’

Former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh has accused the BJP of tampering with the majority through a post on his X. He wrote, ‘They know that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have given a clear mandate to the Congress-National Conference alliance. To end this democratic process, they have resorted to the old methods of their self-proclaimed ‘Chanakya-Niti’. We have clear information and basis to say this’.

The Congress leader alleged that the BJP is misusing power to negate the decision of the people. He wrote, ‘Power is being used wrongly and maliciously to negate the decision of the people in favor of the Congress-National Conference alliance in Jammu and Kashmir. We will make every effort to thwart such nefarious designs.’ He has not disclosed what is the basis of the Congress leader.

HMO had called Abdullah’s statement misleading

Earlier, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah had accused the BJP of reducing the powers of the Chief Minister and curtailing the functioning of the government. He had claimed that the Chief Secretary was appointed from the Center to do this work so that the powers of the incoming government could be curtailed. However, Home Minister Amit Shah’s office issued a strong statement on this and termed it misleading and speculative.
