Bajwa had said in a statement that 50 bombs have reached Punjab and 18 of them have exploded. After this a case was registered against him.

SAS Nagar city superintendent of police issued a production notice to Punjab Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa, writing “In pursuance of subsection (3) of section 35 of the Indian Civil Security Code 2023, I hereby inform you that during the investigation of FIR No. 19 dated 13/04/2025 registered at Police Station Cyber ​​Crime Phase 7, SAS Nagar U/S 353(2), 197(1) D BNS. it has been found that there are reasonable grounds to question you to ascertain the facts and circumstances from you in relation to the present investigation. Therefore, you are directed to appear before me today at 12 noon at Cyber ​​Crime Police Station, Phase 7.”

Lawyer seeks time

Partap Singh Bajwa did not appear before the police on Monday. His lawyer Pradeep Virk said, “As his lawyer, I have asked for some time. Pratap Singh Bajwa received the summons last night and he was not in a position to appear here. He has asked for time till 2 pm tomorrow. He will appear here tomorrow.”

In an interview to a private television channel, Congress leader Bajwa claimed that he had received information that “50 bombs have reached Punjab. Of these, 18 have exploded and 32 are yet to explode.” After this statement of his, there was a stir in the politics of the state and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took it seriously and asked Bajwa to reveal the source of this statement. After this, the police interrogated him and a case was registered against Bajwa on Sunday. Bajwa has been booked under various charges including giving misleading information endangering the sovereignty and unity of the country.
