Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met the patients and their families at AIIMS and inquired about their problems and complaints. Congress said on social media platform X- “Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi met patients and their families outside Delhi AIIMS. People who have come from far-off places for treatment are forced to sleep on roads, footpaths and subways. Modi government and Delhi government have left them to their fate. They have turned their back on their responsibility. Waiting for months for treatment, inconvenience and government’s insensitivity – this is the reality of Delhi AIIMS today. The situation is such that people who have come from far-off places carrying the burden of their loved ones’ illness are forced to sleep on footpaths and subways in this freezing cold. Rahul Gandhi met those patients waiting for treatment and talked to them and listened to their problems.”

On his visit, Rahul Gandhi said- “The burden of disease, biting cold, and government insensitivity – today I met patients and their families outside AIIMS, who have come from far and wide in search of treatment. On the way to treatment, they are forced to sleep on roads, footpaths and subways – they are just keeping a flame of hope burning amidst cold ground, hunger, and inconveniences. Both the Central and Delhi governments have completely failed in fulfilling their responsibility towards the public.”
