Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Sardar Patel Jayanti celebrations in Ahmedabad. He said that the Prime Minister was sitting like a king, wearing a British hat. He added that many states are currently under the rule of others, and that Modi has not yet become an emperor.

He said that his government at the Centre is dependent on the two crutches of Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu. Kharge said that it was strange that PM Modi was sitting alone at the event, wearing a British hat, like a king, without the Home Minister, Chief Minister, or any other minister around him.

Iron Man and Iron Lady
At the CWC meeting in Ahmedabad, Mallikarjun Kharge said that Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary is being celebrated everywhere. He said that Sardar Patel’s ideas are being followed in the party. “I am very sad that today is also Indira Gandhi’s martyrdom day.” Kharge said that both are great men, one Iron Man and the other Iron Lady. The Congress President said that Sardar Patel’s contribution to the nation’s development was immense. Indira Gandhi also made sacrifices for the nation’s unity. However, a party whose members died for the nation faces harsh criticism.

Congress attacks RSS
Mallikarjun Kharge said that whenever we speak out against the RSS, we are targeted. He pointed out that Sardar Patel wrote a letter on February 4, 1948, in which he stated that the RSS celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s death and distributed sweets. Kharge stated that in a letter to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Sardar Patel had said about the RSS that Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination was due to the Sangh’s atmosphere.

Kharge sarcastically said that two prominent leaders from Gujarat, PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, say that the Congress does not remember Sardar Patel. But they should remember that Sardar Patel belonged to the Congress. Kharge recalled Sardar Patel’s old statement about the RSS, saying that the Sangh’s ideology is full of poison and led to Mahatma Gandhi’s death.

Congress thinks for the good of the country
Kharge said that Congress always thinks for the good of the country. He said that attempts are being made to change history. This government tried to erase history and important information from NCERT textbooks. He said that Prime Minister Modi is an expert in turning lies into truth and truth into lies.

He said that Sardar Patel banned the RSS for the benefit of the country. Today’s RSS workers used to spread the ideology of the then Sarsanghchalak Golwalkar. Today they blame the Congress for everything, but first look at the actions of the current government. He said that truth will always remain truth; no one can erase it.

The RSS should be banned
The Congress President said that the RSS should be banned. He also said that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel had a very good relationship. I want to tell the BJP not to mix stones in the curd. Regarding the government’s work regarding Sardar Patel, Congress President Kharge said that Prime Ministers come and go, leaders come and go, but work has to be done for the country.

Modi government lifted the ban in 2024
He said that Sardar Patel had banned government employees from participating in the activities of the RSS and Jamaat-e-Islami. The Modi government lifted that ban in 2024. This is an insult to Sardar Patel. Just as snake venom is not tested by taking it out of the mouth, but the same thing is being done by lifting the ban. This is very dangerous.
