Congress Rally Against Vote Rigging: The rally will be held at Ramlila Maidan to protest against alleged irregularities in the electoral process and accusations of ‘vote theft’ amidst the ongoing debate between the government and the opposition in the Lok Sabha regarding electoral reforms and a special intensive revision (SIR) of voter lists.

Congress is intensifying its campaign against alleged electoral rigging and vote theft. The party will hold a major rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Sunday, December 14, 2025. Through this rally, Congress will accuse the government and the Election Commission of collusion.

Rahul Gandhi and Kharge will address the rally. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former party President Rahul Gandhi are expected to address the rally. Several senior leaders, including Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, KC Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh, and Sachin Pilot, will also be present on stage. Former party President Sonia Gandhi is also expected to attend the rally.

5.5 million signatures collected against ‘vote theft’
Congress General Secretary (Organization) K.C. Venugopal stated that the party has collected approximately 5.5 million signatures through a nationwide campaign against ‘vote theft’. He said, “Rahul Gandhi has demonstrated with evidence how vote theft is taking place. He challenged the Home Minister to an open debate on the issue, but there has been no response from the government.”

Memorandum to be submitted to the President
Venugopal said that after the rally, Congress will request a meeting with the President and submit a memorandum containing 55 million signatures to him. The party says this movement is to protect democracy and fair elections.

This rally comes just days after a heated debate between the government and the opposition in the Lok Sabha over electoral reforms and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. Congress alleges serious irregularities in the electoral process.

Claim for Millions of People to Attend
Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi claimed that millions of people will attend the rally. He said that Congress workers from across the country, as well as social activists, will gather at Ramlila Maidan. He also hinted that leaders from the Grand Alliance’s constituent parties may also participate.

Congress leader Sachin Pilot said that the rally is being organized with the slogan “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod” (Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod) because the Election Commission is not functioning impartially. Meanwhile, Bhupesh Baghel alleged that the BJP and the Election Commission are colluding to undermine democracy.

Congress leader Udit Raj described the rally as a mass movement, saying it was not just a party event, but a fight to protect people’s rights and democracy. He also appealed to ordinary citizens to join the rally.
