Deepti Tripathi, wife of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) chairman Manoj Tripathi, has postponed her decision to join the Haryana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following threatening phone calls received by Manoj Tripathi.

Deepti Tripathi, wife of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) Chairman Manoj Tripathi, has postponed her decision to join the Haryana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On Wednesday, January 21, Deepti claimed that her family had received threatening phone calls from the banned organization Babbar Khalsa International.

Deepti, who claims to have been involved in social work for many years, was scheduled to join the BJP at the party office in Panchkula. Invitations were sent to the media to cover the event. However, Deepti’s decision to join the BJP had surprised some people.

Last year, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab was involved in a dispute with the BBMB over the sharing of river water with Haryana. Deepti had said that she was joining the BJP on Wednesday because she was impressed by the party’s policies, programs, and development work.

Threatening Calls Received by Manoj Tripathi

According to a Hindustan Times report, Deepti also claimed that political unrest had erupted. She said that Aam Aadmi Party workers had gathered at her husband Manoj Tripathi’s office. These were former BBMB employees who were protesting to get some of their demands met. Furthermore, Manoj Tripathi has also received threats from banned organizations such as Babbar Khalsa and the Rinda Group. Currently, police security has been increased outside Deepti Tripathi’s residence.

Will Deepti Tripathi Join the BJP?

According to reports, Deepti Tripathi arrived at the BJP office with her supporters around 4:15 PM on Wednesday, but left after only a few minutes. The BJP’s Panchkula president informed that Deepti Tripathi has not yet taken party membership. He said that there are indications that Deepti Tripathi’s family is being threatened. It cannot be said at this time when she will join the party.
