Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir is incomplete without PoK… terrorist training camps are running in PoK… what conspiracy is going on across the border?

The country’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir is incomplete without Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and the people there are discriminated on the basis of religion. Addressing a former soldier rally organized by the Army in Akhnoor on the outskirts of Jammu, the Defense Minister said that the land of PoK is being used for terrorism, where training camps of terrorists are being run and launch pads have been built in the areas adjoining the border.

He said that the Indian government is well aware of the situation and will take action at the right time. The Defense Minister said that Pakistan will have to end its nefarious activities and terrorist infrastructure operating from PoK.

The Defense Minister said that the veterans of the Indian Army have always defeated their enemies during wars to protect the country. He praised the sacrifices of the army personnel and emphasized their role in protecting the nation against terrorism. Rajnath Singh reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of veterans, serving soldiers and their families. Terming it as a top priority, he assured that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) will always work beyond its capacity to ensure the well-being of its soldiers, who remain the nation’s assets even after retirement. He listed out the steps taken by the ministry and underlined that the government stands with the country’s soldiers at every step.

Rajnath Singh hoists 108-feet high tricolour
The Defence Minister also hoisted a 108-feet high tricolour at Akhnoor and inaugurated a heritage museum. The museum displays weapons used in various wars in Jammu and Kashmir and statues of war heroes. Earlier, the Defence Minister along with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) was welcomed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and senior officials.

Armed Forces Veterans Day 2019 is celebrated every year on January 14 to recognise the service rendered by Field Marshal KM Cariappa, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, who retired on this day in 1953. The day was first celebrated in 2016 and since then it is celebrated every year by hosting interactive events in honour of ex-servicemen.
